Synchronisation with a Member Data Provider
Member details held in systems (Member Data Providers), such as membership management applications, can be synchronised to DutyMan’s list of members.
For successful synchronization, each member’s record in the Member Data Provider is permanently linked to its equivalent record in DutyMan by an identifier unique to that member. Technically the identifier is the record’s database primary key. The identifier is usually, but not necessarily, a number. The name of the field holding the identifier in DutyMan member records is Member DBID.
The synchronisation process can be either automated or manual.
Automated Synchronisation
The Member Data Provider uses DutyMan’s web service API to update DutyMan in real time.
Manual Synchronisation
A list of members and their details is exported from the Member Data Provider to a file then imported into DutyMan.
