Press Release :: October 2008

Clubs Expect Every Member To Do Their Duty

A new version of DutyMan, the web-based club duty management service from Radix Software, is now available featuring tighter security yet easier access, improved navigation and more ways for club members to remember their duty dates.

A characteristic of duties is that people think about them seldom - perhaps once when duties are first allocated and again as their duty date approaches. Between visits to DutyMan it was possible to forget your password but the latest version gives people the option of staying permanently logged in. "Just click the link in your Welcome to DutyMan email, tick the Remember Me box and you need never enter a password again", explains DutyMan’s John Barber.

Once logged in people can immediately identify their duties in the calendar and find out what is expected of them. A smart new control panel gives access to all the standard functions including confirming attendance, arranging duty swaps and volunteering for unallocated duties.

The ability to download duties from DutyMan to Microsoft Outlook for synchronisation with PDAs or even mobile phones. “For those less technologically inclined we have devised a revolutionary alternative”, claims Barber. “It is called paper. Now you can print a neat list of your duties and stick it on the fridge door. Sometimes the old ways are best.” A second reporting option provides a concise summary of any day’s duties; useful for the duty officer or club notice board.

This new version is available on the web now and marks a further step in DutyMan’s mission to encourage people to do their duties. For more information, including a fully functional interactive demo and a free trial, visit www.dutyman.biz.
